Litho printing

Within our Litho printing department we have 3 operators who have over 62 years of combined experience in the print trade.

Paul operates and maintains our 4-colour Shinohara Press and has worked very closely with engineers in the past to build up a strong knowledge of the press and how best to utilise small tweaks to make massive gains in quality.Litho Printing

Carl looks after the single-colour GTO press and has an unrivalled knowledge of printing, numbering and perforating in-line. Carl and the GTO are also industry leaders in the printing of envelopes and many printers within the area bring their envelopes jobs to us because of the excellent speed and quality we are able to offer. Carl followed his father’s footsteps into the print world and so can even fall back on advice from the generation before him!

Our third single colour press, a FUJI machine, is run and maintained by both Paul and Carl and works tirelessly on spot colour letterheads and corporate stationary. It is also used heavily on producing the inside pages of magazines and newsletters who have black only inners.

Darren operates in a support role, covering both Paul and Carl when they are on annual leave. Darren himself has 27 years print experience and this ensures that there is always a wealth of experience available no matter what-time and day a customer’s job arrives on press.

Which press would my job be printed on?

As a very rough rule of thumb, the cut off point to move a job from Litho to Digital currently sits around 1,000 copies. Whilst this isnt true for all items is a very rough rule to keep in mind.
